Top Kitchenset Organizing Tips – This past week I focused on remodeling my daughter’s playroom. My goal was not only to organize and clean, but also to make the space more functional. A well-organized play space encourages a child to use their imagination while play and pretend or imaginative play is a fundamental part of learning for a child. With everything in the world, and waiting a lot longer than I had hoped for her to start school, this is a significant change I can make at home to help her develop.
One of her biggest pieces in her playroom is her little kitchen that she got for Christmas last year. Although he always liked it, he never played with it extensively. I used to keep everything kitchen/food related in a big bin next to the kitchen, which was quite honestly a mess of kitchen items mixed together. Matching pieces were impossible to find, so most of the time she would empty the bin, leaving a big mess on the floor in frustration along the way and move on to something else. After about a year I decided it was time to make it a functional space where everything has a place, much like the real kitchen in our house.

All food items went in the fridge, a cabinet was used for all the plates and utensils, the top shelf was for small appliances, etc. Organizing the kitchen was an instant game changer! As soon as I finished putting everything in its place she started playing with her kitchen like never before. She got her oven mitt and put her cookies on the baking sheet and in the oven, then got the cookware and food to cook for me. She had never used her imagination to play in the kitchen before. Now that it’s organized, he plays a lot longer and doesn’t mess up like he used to. Double win for us.

Getting the kitchen to this point requires some thought and of course a lot of cleaning. When I emptied her kitchen bin I realized she had too many items. No kid needs 20 cookware, so I kept 1 complete set and donated the rest. Since she’s had the kitchen for about a year, she’s received a lot of kitchen-related items as gifts, so they’ve accumulated. Many kitchen related sets come with a variety of items, such as food items and a couple of cooking utensils, an apron and a plate, etc. So he ended up with lots of mismatched items thrown into 1 big bin, making it impossible to find what he needed. for a specific activity.
Organizing things properly means buying some bins or things to organize things in In this case, I bought 2 bins, 2 baking sheets and hooks to properly organize those small spaces, but it was worth it. I’m sharing everything I bought to organize and all the sets I put together to completely fill out her tiny kitchen she needs to pretend play.
If you have a little boy, don’t shy away from the pretend kitchen. Although it’s traditionally a girl’s toy, lately I’ve seen a lot of boys getting tiny kitchens. Mamas are the way to go because there’s nothing better than a man who loves the kitchen! This is actually one of my husband’s favorite qualities. I’m going to share everything we have, mostly pink because I love a color coordinated playroom, but I also have some great blue accessories and some neutrals perfect for little boys or a bisexual family.
Let’s start with the main pieces you’ll need. I went with KidCraft’s Vintage Kitchen because I love its design. It comes in two color options, white kitchen and pink kitchen. We also started with a basic set of pots and pans that will work for any pretend play kitchen. Most pretend play kitchens are very similar in size, so all the items we have should work for any of them, but make sure you have space for bins and trays. The Most Effective Way To Organize Your Kitchen Cabinets
This particular kitchen fridge is perfect for an 8×8 bin. Since the fridge has 2 shelves, I ordered 2 clear 8×8 storage bins and separated the items by type. I dedicated one bin to all the fruits and vegetables and another to his grilling set and the rest of his miscellaneous food items. One of his favorite toys is his fruit and vegetable cutter set. This set even comes with a pizza and all the items are held together with Velcro, so she places each slice on a cutting board and uses the included knife to cut in half. He loves this set so much that we have 1 set in the kitchen and another in a small basket outside his playroom. They are plastic so they are extremely durable and do not get damaged outside. Most of the other items in his fridge are from his BBQ set which includes hamburgers, hot dogs, ketchup, mustard etc. There’s also a big red grilling set that seems perfect if you’re just starting out, as it has a lot of essentials without having to buy different things. This set includes pots, pans, cookware, a grill and even some food items. We don’t have this set personally, but it looks great for the money.
Our particular kitchen has a small stove with a shelf dividing it into 2 sections. I decided to add 2 stainless steel baking sheets, one for her cookies and one for her pizza (which came in the fruit and veggie set). This baking sheet is a perfect fit. My daughter got a set of Christmas cookies over Christmas, so I’m sharing her exact set if you’d like. I’ve also included a similar set of cookies that aren’t Christmas related.
Then we use the kitchen top to display all her cooking utensils and small appliances. I loved the mini pink and rose gold cookware. These aren’t pretend toys, they’re real silicone cookware that’s even dishwasher safe, but they’re small in size, perfect for small kitchens. I just had to buy them. He may even use me to help him cook when he is a little older. There is also a set of mini black and white cookware, just like ours but black and white. I store her cookware in a holder that came with her other set, but I decided to keep the pink cookware just for simplification purposes. However, this is a really cute set that includes stainless and wooden utensils in one holder. This is another great option that is even cheaper and comes with storage for it.
Above the kitchen we have all her small appliances. She has a pink mixer, a pink toaster and a blue coffee maker While searching for other options to share here, I found a pink coffee maker and a pink blender… I’m not going to lie, I’m really tempted to buy them so everything matches our color scheme. We also have a blue mixer with our blue coffee maker (which we have and keep in a cabinet under the kitchen) and I’ve got a silver mixer and a silver toaster that looks very real.
Expert Tips For Kitchen Organizing On A Budget
Finally in the little cabinet under the sink, I store all his plates and utensils. They stack up perfectly in this small cabinet space. I decided to order her a complete set so she could set her small table of 4 with all the correct pieces at each setting. We had a lot of mismatched pieces that came with different sets, but no more than 2 of anything coordinated, so I decided to donate them all and keep 1 complete set. I bought the dinnerware set in pastel colors, but there is another adorable set of dinnerware in primary colors.
There are 2 other small spaces to use in the kitchen, a cabinet under the fridge and a small open space under the sink. They essentially become our overflow storage. We have another mixer and blender under the fridge, which she loves to play with, and then the small open storage spot has extra pots and pans, as well as knives for her chopping set.
We filled all the cabinet space, but there was a clean blank wall on one side of the kitchen that I didn’t want to waste. I decided to put command hooks in there for her apron and oven mitts. This is the perfect place for those items, keeping them
