European farmhouse style makes no attempt to hide the fact that people live here; instead, it takes those details and makes them the focal point of the style.
I’ve mentioned this before, but I kind of wonder if my attraction to imperfect beauty is because I know that as a person, mother, wife, daughter, etc., I too have my share of imperfections.
And deep down, I love that there is beauty in human imperfection, just as there is in our homes.
Not to mention it’s impossible to keep a house looking perfect all the time with three little girls living in it haha!

What’s really cool is that when I first started researching elements for a European farmhouse kitchen design, our house didn’t have them all.
No, there are still many areas that need updating and loving, but I feel at peace within the walls of our home.
But when you look back at how far you’ve come and all the progress you’ve made is a very rewarding feeling.
Now let’s talk about all the everyday items I use as decoration to make beautiful and functional decorations.
Farmhouse Kitchen Fall Decorating Ideas
But when I’m not using them to chop food or serve food, they look wonderful propped against a wall, or hanging on a pot rack.
Another way I’ve used these breadboards in the past is as a table centerpiece.
But for some reason, I really like these little guys, so they stay here on the kitchen shelf haha.
I use this spoon regularly for breakfast oatmeal, and since I started baking from scratch, I also use a measuring cup every day.

Another way I use crock pots is to store my most frequently used kitchen utensils on the counter.
The decoration is beautiful, full of flowers on the table or on the dining room table too.
We’ve had these open shelves for a few years, and honestly, I can’t imagine not doing this DIY.
